One vTuber I enjoyed before her retirement was Honeysaur. She was really good at chatting and going on random tangents while gaming, and the topic of string cheese vs babybel came up. She was firmly on team string cheese, but the idea of reusing the Babybel wax to make candles came up and chat riffed on the idea for awhile. I thought it would be funny to make a Honeysaur shaped candle mold & actually fill it with Babybel wax.
Well, it didn't work out so well. I started by making a sculpt and retopology of her character, which came out really good, but printing it as a mold turned out to be a nightmare. It just wasn't gonna work. Then, shortly after she announced she would be retiring from streaming. I decided to pivot and just print the model normally and paint it as a bootleg toy. Previously I've discussed a couple of the bootleg Nendoroid toys I've printed and painted, but this time it was a completely custom toy.
I got out my airbrush and paint pens and gave the entire thing a paint job. I'm really happy with it came out. But because I like making bootleg toys seem official, I decided to photoshop a custom box for it as well.
